The Crystallinity of Our 15th Birthday

Academic life is an organic, expanding, and seemingly endless vista of focus, discoveries, and those glorious “ah-HA” epiphanies of seeing things another way. In all the voices of the world, students of life learn from books, research, oceans, continents—and even from something as small as a crystal.

AIHT crystallized 15 years ago, originating as a distance learning divinity school: a Divine idea, in Divine timing!

The year was 1991. America’s #1 song was an internationally haunting, humanistic plea: “Think twice, it’s just another day for you and me in paradise.” After the first Persian Gulf War ended, the Christmas Day timing of Mikhail Gorbachev’s resignation extended the gift of “new life” within a troubled Communist nation.

With great expectations for a new day and indeed a new world in this next millennium, “New Agers” actively sought simple, eclectic ways of taking care—remembering to honor our planet, affirming the interconnectedness of mind, body, soul.

And, as characterized by fluid, inclusive, ever-evolving (non-static) beliefs, “New Thought” seekers uplifted the universal presence/creative energy/divine spirit of choosing love over fear. Acknowledging many paths to one powerfully spiritual truth, New Thought affirms that the quality of our thinking creates our entire experience, now and always, here in Earth School.

Crystallinity casts multi-faceted reflections of nature’s light-bringing role, all along this beautiful way! Ancient religions pay homage to the harmonic wisdom of crystals, as in this poetic hymn of praise from The Vedas, Hindu sacred texts:

There is an endless net of threads Throughout the universe. The horizontal threads are in space. The vertical threads are in time. At every crossing of the threads, There is an individual, And every individual Is a crystal bead. The great light of absolute being Illuminates and penetrates Every crystal bead, and also, Every crystal bead reflects Not only the light From every other crystal in the net, But also every reflection Of every reflection Throughout the universe.

Alive with resonant energy, crystals amplify the power of light and the magnetism of healing intention. Throughout time, crystals have inhabited the mineral kingdom on earth and the elemental realm of spirit. As conduits of personal and planetary vibrational energy, crystals are used in watches, radios and imaging. Their record-keeping memory forms an ageless storehouse of healing mystery.

Thanks to each of our 5,000 plus students and graduates, AIHT celebrates its crystal anniversary, an evolutionary “milestone” on this path we share—honoring All That Is!
