Ann Haley’s Lyrical Life
If life is a song, welcome to the musical rhapsody of Anne Haley.
You might say that our recital trilogy began with an Irish jig—a
lucky, lilting duet to celebrate her AIHT enrollment on St. Patrick’s Day,
2003! Later that year the singer/songwriter released It’s a Beautiful
Life, a CD of folk guitar ballads inspired by her greatest good fortunes:
family, friends and faith.
In creatively upbeat tempo, by 2004 Anne completed her Bachelor
of Science in Holistic Ministries and produced a Christmas music CD.
Now more than halfway through her M.S. coursework, the high-energy songbird already
plans to continue her studies with a doctoral degree.
Her first career was a different song and dance altogether!
From the “do, re, me” of teaching elementary
school, Anne would later become a college instructor—amidst plot twists,
ironies, pain and suspense of operatic proportion.
For instance: alongside the melodious magic of landing a Nashville
recording contract in the 1990’s came the exhilarating isolation of constant
touring, mainly overseas, for two years. Emotionally exhausted by it all, our
musical maven managed to finesse a graceful “swan song” and return
to North Carolina.

It's
a Beautiful Life: Down on the farm, Anne Haley's songs are inspired by the
healing energies of her human family and many furry friends. To sample Anne's

There her family would meet the wrath of three hurricanes in
just 48 months, finally losing everything to Hurricane Floyd.
Since then, each of her parents has stared down cancer and
heart disease—and won! This year Anne traded in 20 years of hip pain for
an exciting innovation in joint replacement surgery at Duke University Medical
Center. A mere 10 days down the road, she shared the stage for two concerts with
Livingston Taylor at The Old Theater in Oriental, N.C.
Never one to sing the blues, on this same stage Anne had recently
recorded her first live CD. Giving voice to the religion of war in “Strange
Weather” and touching different places in the heart with “Angry”
and “Love Me Like a Song,” Anne Haley Live is a smooth, sweet,
well-paced soundtrack of life as she knows it.
Might as well face it, shifts happen! When we’re willing
to sing along and smile through life’s jazzy improvisational rifts, we learn
to harmonize with the brighter melodies and strum right through those occasional
sour notes in between.
These days tonal therapies and crystal singing bowls are among
many other-worldly, New Thought healing modalities that have helped Anne to realign
mind, body and spirit energies, rebalancing and regaining her health.
“From dancing rainbows to Reiki and ritualistic cleansing,
I’m learning to be ‘open to the mystery’ as Larry Dossey says.
He and Deepak Chopra are both renowned medical doctors (and AIHT curriculum authors)
who shifted their clinical thinking to embrace the inspiring truths of self-empowered
holistic healing, prayer and longevity.”
“I
feel so blessed,” she says, “to have found these teachings in the
perfect Divine timing
to help reinvent my own health.”
In other words, alongside the rigors of ongoing physical therapy
Anne Haley now has “doctor’s orders” to reach for any and all
of her four remaining M.S. courses: Rest and Attitude, Holistic Living, Lifestyle
Modification, and/or Spirituality and Personal Transformation.
Editor’s note: Stay tuned! Anne Haley’s creative
story of healing continues with Vibrations Volume 11, Number 3.
