Volunteering with Celebrate Your Life

During the AIHT alumni reunion last summer in Chicago, one of the producers of Celebrate Your Life offered our group a plum assignment. “Who would like to attend all keynote speaker events for free, and perhaps help host a book-signing? In exchange, volunteers will meet and assist hundreds of conference attendees—making friends with other metaphysical seekers, locally and nationally.”

Here are the stories of three AIHT students and graduates who accepted the challenge of volunteering with Mishka Productions.

Ph.D. candidate Jeffrey Pears is a hospice chaplain and certified Kriya Yoga meditation instructor. Six years ago, he learned about near death experiences through an empowering series led by Dannion Brinkley, the founder of Compassion in Action. “Now known as The Twilight Brigade, it is taught as a ministry of helping others through their earthly transition. It offers CEU credit for healthcare professionals as well,” says Jeffrey.

After working with Mishka author Eric Pearl, D.C., Jeffrey felt led to continue with practitioner certification training in Philadelphia. Dr. Pearl created a program of ‘reconnection therapy’ whose healing benefits derive from raising one’s energetic vibration. “I feel that ‘the reconnection’ can help offer a quickening of our awakening, as sentient beings on a spiritual path.”

Marlene Molay Brown, Ph.D. is a Reiki master, hypnotherapist and yoga teacher who inspires students and clients of all ages. Her interesting life encompasses corporate wellness, working in a health food store, raising two healthy daughters, writing newspaper columns about natural health, and overcoming a cancer diagnosis.

As a Mishka volunteer, Marlene resonated deeply with the teachings of Gregg Braden. “I was touched by his respect for the Eastern healing modalities, his spiritual journeys to Tibet, and the reverence with which he presented this information.

“And being a hypnotherapist,” she adds, “I was also thrilled to learn a past–life regression technique that Dr. Brian Weiss demonstrated, which I’ve used successfully with several clients.”

Observing Afua Brenda Alexander’s high energy throughout the Mishka weekend, we had to wonder if she had on roller-skates. Her magnificent smile was everywhere!

As an undergraduate student of holistic ministries, she is also fascinated by cultural anthropology. Her name, originating from Ghana, describes “a soul who can travel between worlds.”

Afua Brenda enjoyed working with four Mishka authors last summer: “Marianne Williamson, whose teachings of A Course in Miracles are a wonderful journey of healing the self; Joe Dispenza, for his scientific enlightenment; Iyanla Vanzant, for her piercingly bright spirit; and James Van Praagh, for his peaceful connection with the other side while healing people on this side.”

Come to AIHT’s 2008 reunion!

Held in conjunction with Celebrate Your Life: Phoenix Nov. 7-9, AIHT wants to see you at our annual reunion! Plan extra time to feel the energy of Red Rock country in nearby Sedona, AZ.
