Profile: Dr. Denise Borrelli

Denise Borrelli, Ph.D., LMHC, ATR, LMT graduated from AIHT in 1996 with a Doctor of Philosophy in Metaphysics. Dr. Borrelli is the Clinical Director of A Healing Touch Holistic Treatment Center. A Healing Touch Holistic Treatment Center is dedicated to Holistic Health Care promoting total health, disease prevention and healing. The approach focuses on the whole person and recognizes the essential connection with structural chemical and emotional health.

She is a registered art psychotherapist, licensed mental health counselor, nationally certified massage therapist, and gifted teacher. She is an adjunct professor at Springfield College of Expressive Art Therapy Graduate Program in Springfield, Massachusetts and is an instructor at the Massage Institute of New England in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Denise guest lectures around the country for the AMTA and Colleges, on topics of body oriented psychotherapy, art therapy and massage therapy. In the past she has been on staff at the Massage Institute of New England in Cambridge.

She is currently the President and the Education Director of the Massachusetts chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association. She was appointed to the position of Education Chair of the National American Massage Therapy Association in March of 1992 and remained in the position until October 1996. Recently she has been appointed Vice President of the National American Massage Therapy Association. She also holds the 1992 National Meritorious Award. On March 7th of 1996 she was presented with an award from the Department of Veterans Affairs, to Honor Women's History Week. Recently Denise received the Women's Achievement Award from the Mayor's office and an official Citation from the Senate for Outstanding Community Involvement.

Presently she sits on the Board of Directors of the Medford Chamber of Commerce. Her work has been covered in the Boston Globe and other local and national publications.
