AIHT Education’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography also known as Ultrasound Technologist training is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in ultrasound field. Students will learn essential skills to operate ultrasound equipment and create internal organ images.
Program Overview
The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is a two-year hybrid program that will train you to create images to assess and diagnose various medical conditions. The role of a diagnostic medical sonographer is critically important in helping doctors make accurate diagnoses. Students will be trained on the necessary technical skills to perform abdominal, ob-gyn, and vascular ultrasound.
Program Objective
The objective of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program is to prepare entry level skilled sonographers and to equip them with the essential knowledge of the vital principles and instrumentation of diagnostic ultrasound.
Hybrid Learning
The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is taught using a hybrid learning environment. All hybrid courses will utilize online and in-person instruction. Lectures may be offered on campus or remotely via a Learning Management System (LMS). Laboratory classes and practical training will be held on campus or at a clinical site.
Online classes will be taught synchronously. Synchronous instruction is real-time instruction that requires students to attend classes at scheduled times.
Clinical Externship
At the end of the program, the student will be placed for a clinical externship where they can gain hands-on experience in a hospital, or imaging centers. Externships allow students to develop skills and enable them to connect with working professionals.
AIHT has clinical affiliations with number of healthcare facilities where students will be placed at one or more of these affiliated sites and must complete their clinical hours based on the schedule provided by the school. Students cannot begin the externship until all required classroom and lab hours are completed.

Testimonials
What our students say about AIHT!
I am so grateful for AIHT. I found this school online after realizing the business degree I was pursuing wasn’t going to make me happy. I looked at multiple schools for diagnostic medical sonography. I decided to commute 75miles each way and I would do it all over again. All of the professors here are wonderful. They really take the time to make sure you’re grasping concepts, as long as you are expressing your true interest. Sobia and Alli really impacted me in the way I was learning and I felt very prepared for clinicals. Alli supported me through clinicals with any questions and made sure I was comfortable with sites, the commute, and even found me a closer site. I am graduating next week and I already have one full time job and an opportunity for a per diem position at one of my clinical sites. I can’t thank everyone here enough for helping me pursue my true dream!

I graduated from Ultrasound Tech program. Faculty and stuff are very supportive and approachable. My instructor Sobia is very knowledgeable and helpful. I had a wonderful experience on my externship at Danbury Hospital. I had two job offers for Ultrasound tech already. I would recommend anyone with dedication to enroll here. Program is challenging and will require 100% dedication.

My experience in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at AIHT was absolutely amazing. The instructors truly care about their students’ success not just in the classroom, but in the field as well. They go above and beyond to make sure we understand the material, gain confidence in our scanning skills, and are fully prepared for both the ARRT/ARDMS exams and real-world clinical situations.
The program provided a perfect balance of hands-on training, academic learning, and professional development. Each instructor brought valuable experience and passion to their teaching, creating an environment that was both supportive and motivating.
By the time I graduated, I felt confident and ready to step into my career as a diagnostic medical sonographer.
I’m so grateful for everything this program and its teachers have done to prepare me for success I wouldn’t be the sonographer I am today without them!

I recently graduated from the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and Robin and Madison were amazing teachers. They helped me with every question I had and guided me through my clinical experience.
All in all great experience learning from Robin and Madison during this program.
