Admission Process

To begin your journey toward a fulfilling and successful career, you must first begin the admission process. In order to make this as quick and easy as possible, we’ve done our best to simplify the entire process.

Meet an Admissions Representative

The first step in the admission process is to schedule an appointment to meet with one of our admissions representatives. Think of this introductory meeting as both an interview and an opportunity for you to do some important fact gathering. Based on your background and experience, we will help you decide on the career and program that is most suitable for you.

School Tour

After discussing your career options, you will be taken on a tour of our facility. This will give you the opportunity to see our classrooms and medical labs up close. You may even get the chance to see some classes in action.

Financial Aid

During your first visit to the school, you may also have the opportunity to meet with one of our Financial Aid Advisors. For students who qualify, some of our programs are eligible for federal grants and loans. Your advisor will go through all of the options that may be available, and they can also assist you in submitting your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).


Once you have gathered all of the necessary information, submitted your FAFSA (if applicable), and decided on a program, the next step is to contact the Admissions Department to schedule an appointment to apply or enroll. The entire enrollment process for many of the programs can usually be completed in one day.

On the day of your application/enrollment you will be required to take an entrance exam. All of our programs require students to obtain a minimum score on the entrance exam prior to enrolling. After passing the entrance exam, all students will be interviewed by a school official. Certain programs require the interview to be conducted by the director of education, a program director, or the school director.

For certain programs, you will be permitted to enroll in your program of choice upon successful completion of the interview and entrance exam. Please make sure to bring the following items to your application or enrollment appointment:

  • Application for Enrollment
  • 1 forms of identification (driver’s license, passport, social security card, government-issued ID, student ID, etc.)
  • $125 administrative fee (nonrefundable)
  • Proof of high school graduation or equivalent (original high school diploma, GED, college degree, and/or official, sealed transcript)
  • Associates degree or higher (Diagnostic Medical Sonography applicants only).
  • Statement of Purpose Essay (For Sonography; DMS, CVT, & VT applicants only)

Rolling Admissions

AIHT has a rolling admission policy. Once a start date is determined for a program, students are welcome to apply and/or enroll in the program. Applications are not accepted for programs without an official start date. Once a student is accepted and/or fulfills all admission requirements for a particular program, he or she may enroll in that program. Admissions remain open until the maximum number of students has been reached for that particular program.
