Program Overview

The Pharmacy Technician program prepares students to become skilled, entry-level pharmacy technicians. In addition to industry leading training, students will receive practical, hands-on experience. The program will instruct students in a number of areas including medical terminology, proper drug administration, drug classifications, and pharmacy management.

Program Objective and Goals

The purpose of the program is to provide learning experiences which enable graduates to obtain basic competencies needed for entry level employment as a Pharmacy Technician in either the hospital or retail setting.

Clinical Externship

Students will receive hands-on experience at an externship site with affiliated pharmacy or Hospital. Externships allow students to develop skills and contacts within the professionals in the field.

National Exam

After completion of the program graduates can appear for national certification examination, Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB ) through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
