The role of a Certified Nursing Assistant is to provide basic care to patients, as well as assist them in daily activities which they are unable to do by themselves. AIHT’s 6 weeks nurse aide training program provides a student with the required knowledge and skills to become a Certified Nurse Assistant in the State of Connecticut.
Program Objective and Goals
The objective of the CNA training is to prepare students for entry-level jobs providing them with the skills and knowledge required to assist in direct patient care. Our program will help students gain skills required to be successful nursing assistant.
In the end, this course will provide the student with hands-on experience to practice the skills learned in a long-term care center in the observation of a clinical instructor. Externships allow students to develop skills and allow them to make connections with working professionals.
CNA CT License
Once the program is complete, CNA Students are able to take the Connecticut Prometric Nurse Aide License Exam at AIHT Education. The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) has contracted with Prometric Inc. (Prometric) to develop and administer its Nurse Aide Competency Exam and to manage the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Registry. This assessment tests students’ nursing assistant skills and compentency.
