The purpose of an externship is to give students a distinct experience and exposure to a job, company, or industry. As an extern, you get to shadow professionals for a short length of time to fully understand what the position entails. This experience provides hands-on training in the real world scenario and gives a better understanding of how it differs from classroom training. As experienced professionals in healthcare facility supervise externs, it provides them with a great opportunity to make connections with those working professionals. At AIHT, students will be offered an externship site at an off-site location after successfully passing all the required modules with the school. The externship provides the student with hands-on experience in a physician’s office, hospital, or clinic under the supervision and control of the AIHT, overseen by a designated site supervisor. Externships allow students to develop skills and contacts within the profession while they explore various career opportunities.
