As the baby-boom population ages, nursing assistants will be needed to assist and care for elderly patients in long-term care facilities, such as nursing homes. More nursing assistants will be needed to care for patients with these conditions. This certified nursing assistant training is designed for students that want to become certified Nurse Assistant in the State of Connecticut. The CNA program provides the required knowledge and skills in order to become successful certified nurse assistants.

Most of the AIHT students comes for CNA training from the different areas of Connecticut such as Stratford, Bridgeport, Stamford, Hartford, Boston, Waterbury, Norwalk, Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, Darien, Easton, Fairfield, Greenwich, Milford, Monroe, New Canaan, New Fairfield, Newtown, Orange, Oxford, Seymour, Redding, Ridgefield, Shelton, Sherman, Trumbull, Weston, Westport, Wilton and New York.

You will learn about:

  • Basic Medical Terminology
  • Student & Work Ethics
  • Assisting with the Nursing Process
  • Transferring Patients
  • Patient Care

Nature of Work:

  • Record patients’ health concerns and report that information to nurses
  • Measure patients’ vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
  • Provide physical support to assist patients to perform daily living activities such as feed, bathe and dress patients

Requirements High School Diploma or G.E.D

After Graduation:

After completion of the program, students will appear for the Connecticut Nurse Aide Exam. Students are able to take the Prometric Connecticut State Nursing Assistant Exam at AIHT. Employment can be found at any long-term health care facilities including convalescent centers and hospitals.
