AIHT Education’s Patient Care Technician program

AIHT Education’s Patient Care Technician program starts April 20th, 2020. The program is 4 months in length preparing students for entry-level patient care technician jobs as well as equip them with the skills and knowledge to earn National Certification in the healthcare field. The Patient Care Technician Program includes training in Electrocardiography, Phlebotomy & Nurse Assistant.

In the program students will learn:

  • Vital signs measurement
  • Assisting with the Nursing Process
  • Phlebotomy equipment
  • Special Collection Procedures
  • Storage, safety, quality and hygiene
  • Electrocardiography

Program Length and Schedule:

  • Day & Evening Classes
  • 300 Clock Hours – 4 Months
  • 30 Hour Externship

During the externship the students will have a hands-on experience to practice the skills learned in the class in a long term care center in the observation of clinical instructor. Externships allow students to develop skills and contacts within the profession while they explore various career opportunities.

After completion of the program, students will appear for the Connecticut Nurse Aide Exam. Students are able to take the Prometric Connecticut State Nursing Assistant and the National Certification Exam at AIHT.
